Lechoneria New York has 2 locations. One in Jackson Heights and the other in Maspeth. Traditional Colombian Christmas foods include tamales and lechona and what better place to get both than an authentic Colombian eatery. On December 22nd, my family member visited Lechoneria New York in Maspeth to put in an order of 5 Tamal Tolimenses ($13.50 each) and 7 Lechona Colombianas ($13.50 each) for pickup on December 24th. On Christmas Eve, my family member went to pickup the order and there were no issues. I was so surprised by how huge the Tamal Tolimense and Lechona Colombianas were. The Tamal Tolimense was packed with all the good stuff (arroz, pollo, costilla de cerdo, huevo, tocino, papa, zanahoria). Both were very flavorful and tasty. A bag of small arepas were also given to us. Everything was definitely worth the price. There is a small cash discount if paid in cash. I am looking forward to ordering from them again or visiting them in person.
What a wonderful place! Great food and great porción the sancocho de gallina is the best I ever ate in a restaurant! But all the food is delicious and well made with the right amount of meat, spices, etc. I am from another state but I will be visiting soon to enjoy this place. The owner is always there and his attitude is very friendly and very polite I highly recommend this restaurant to all Colombian people and all the people that loves ethnic cuisine! Overall I think the restaurant is a 9 out of 10 ! Gracias!
I was finally able to stop by to eat at this restaurant after passing by so many times. I ordered the calentado, which is a type of Colombian breakfast, at 8pm. I love that you can have breakfast at any time in the day. It was amazing. I also ordered the caldo de costilla which was very flavorful. I will definitely be coming back very soon.
